Ascent Trip Report

Easy enough to find but I wasn't expecting so many unsurfaced roads to get there.

Parked by the Gaizinš café and walked the very enjoyable circular 2 km Gaizinkalna Taka Nature Trail over and around the hill. The summit area now has a small (circa 4 metres high) wooden replica of the previous tall brick tower at the highest spot, but unfortunately it's only decorative, there is no viewing platform (it's not tall enough to see over the surrounding trees anyway). However a small cairn on a mound adjacent to the top of the ski tow had the same elevation according to my altimeter (the rock recording the visit of a previous president is minimally lower).
