Ascent Trip Report

This is the third peak in a link-up between Baldy and West Baldy. Descending the backbone trail from Baldy summit, take the spur trail on the left at the saddle as the trail flattens out, and an easy 15 minute ascent to the non-distinct top of Harwood. Continue down over the top to re-join the backbone trail. This is also an intersection point with the top of the register ridge trail. This was our descent today. A very slow-going descent. Very steep, VERY loose. Poles might be a requirement on this descent. Lucky for us, we had our poles. Also advised: high over-the-ankle boots or gators recommended. The trail continues downward to the beginning of the ski hut trail. This trail is a weird case of the ascent being easier than the descent.
