Ascent Trip ReportAlta Peak Trail from Wolverton. Excellent trail all the way to summit rocks. Several water sources still flowing along the way. Very pretty wildflowers including Brown Eyed Susans, Indian Paintbrush, Shooting Stars, Queen Ann's Lace, Chinese Houses, Fire Weed, Pussy Paws, and many more. The fire in Big Sur made for bad visibility, but it was still a pretty view of Pear Lake and surrounding area.
Did Panther Peak on the way in. Stats include both peaks. Camped at Mehrten Meadow. Took an evening walk with Connie from campsite xc up the hill to "the penthouse" where a woman and 2 girls were camped. Great views and an excellent camp spot. They had a great display of stars and shooting stars the previous night.
