Ascent Trip ReportTook normal route up Borah, then cut across right at the snow chute off Chickenout Ridge. Was technical but pretty straight forward assault on Sacajawea. Some short class 4 sections but nothing too risky. Dropped off into Cedar Creek and up saddle below Mt. Idaho. Already have Idaho in the bag, so Cody and I cut under the peak and to the ridge to traverse over to Peak 11,967. (Oh, Cody ran over and tagged Mt Morrison while on the ridge - which he said was a tough traverse over to).
The traverse to the low saddle between Idaho and Pk 11,967 was tricky but pretty do-able. We cliff-ed out right before the low sandy colored saddle and came back to a super cool wall/tunnel chute that led us to the saddle. One of my favorite spots in the Lost River Range to date. The assault from that saddle up around some spires and cliffs was tricky and exposed in spots. Stayed mainly on the HWY 93 side on the way up to the summit.
There was a register on the summit, but looking at my GPS topo, I don't think the cairn and the sign in are in the correct location. I actually think the high point is about 200m to the southwest. So we went over and sat on it just in case!
Came out Elkhorn Creek and then wrapped around the high sage and ran back to the Borah TH where the vehicle was. It was a long hot crossing! Good flowing water in Elkhorn Creek as well as Cedar Creek right before Borah.
