Ascent Trip Report

Third Route Up #3 Bridal Trail:

This is a route people take with small children, or have a fear of heights, or just do not like any scrambling along the way. It is an easier way up and clearly down. The tail starts a few tenths of a mile past the TH for the Indian Trail at the former Fire Warden's hut then climbs the slopes with a gentler grade than the Kineo Cliffs.

When it is raining we often take this trail up or down becuase it is much safer in that there is no rock climbing or scrambling and it is a typical grade class 1 hike all the way up and back. There are no cliff views. In winter, this is by far the easiest trail in snow. The trail merges with the Indian trail at near a mile up and from there you are on the top of the mountain but going through several saddles - there is no more scrambling from the trail merges to the fire tower. This route is about 1.3 miles where the Indian trail is about 0.9 miles to the top.

Extra gain was from lake to main road and along road and back
