Ascent of Sentinel Peak on 2016-07-16
|Date:||Saturday, July 16, 2016|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||9400 ft / 2865 m|
Ascent Trip ReportOur third peak that day, we came from Petes Point, then Polaris Point(Petes Point/Sentinel Ridge Peak) via Polaris pass, then up Sentinel. The ridge difficulty from Polaris Pass to Sentinel does not change much as you go. It is not hard, not very exposed and once you get going it goes by quickly. Occasionally you will see a faint trail with more goat hoof prints than shoe prints. There are no false summits on Sentinel. As you climb up, you can see the top the whole way.
It was our third peak this day, with Dollar Lake Peak still to go (We got all 4 today).
We descended back to Polaris Pass and down from there towards Tenderfoot Pass where we left our tent. At the bottom of Polaris Pass we went off trail to Dollar Lake Peak.
