Ascent Trip Report

First multipitch trad lead! (Really, the first for all three of those individually.)

Hiked to lunch ledge from Humbert Park via the Climber's trail with a 3-person party.

P1: John led, I seconded/cleaned, Kurt thirded.

P2: I led P2 and P3 as a single pitch with less gear than I'd have liked... 3 tiny cams (Totem Basics Blue-Yellow), 8 regular cams (C4's .5-3 & Dragons 1-5 minus two cams left as an anchor at the top of P1) & full set of nuts. Found a couple really nice nut placements as well as a couple solid pitons and a pre-slung tree along the way which helped me conserve cams. Fair share of heady moments and moves that felt considerably harder than 5.4. Being on the sharp end sure is a different experience!

P3 (P4 in the guidebooks): John led, I seconded/cleaned, Kurt thirded.

Friction slab and class 3/4 scramble to the top to sign the register and get to the walk off trail. Managed to get off trail on the way out and bushwhacked our way back on it.

Great day!
