Ascent Trip ReportAccess road to May Lake Trailhead is about 2 miles long, and in fair shape. I was pulling a pop up camper an did fine (no camping at the trailhead). May Lake a little over 1/3 of the distance, is pristine. The trail from that part forward has some sections that are 30+%. The final few hundreds has some easy Class II climbing. The view is exceptional, with Half Dome, Mount Ritter, Mount Dana and Mount Conness very clearly in view, in all their glory. There are a lot of mosquitoes at the trailhead a close to May Lake, so remember repellent. This is a relatively short High Sierra hike (about 6 miles total) with a great reward (the view!).
