Ascent of Three Sisters on 2016-06-29
|Date:||Wednesday, June 29, 2016|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||8900 ft / 2712 m|
Ascent Trip ReportWe climbed Three Sisters from a camp at Sock Lake after a two day approach over Headquarters Pass and up Red Shale Creek. From camp we gained the divide ridge via an obvious gulley with goat trails north of the lake (see GPS route). We then contoured south through open meadows, eventually dropped 800 feet to bypass cliffs, regained the divide and walked up the east ridge to the summit. GPS says 9.9 miles roundtrip and total elevation gain (from camp) of 3,600 feet.
