Ascent Trip ReportOur route was insane starting from Darrington. A nice guy named Jake gave us a ride from the beginning of the Suiattle River road to Sulphur Creek Campground which shaved off 29 miles or so. Even with that boost we got to Cloudy pass where I realized we had less than 48 hours to go climb Bonanza then race back to Darrington. I was not confident I could cover that distance in my current shape within the time limit so I decided we call it off before we couldn't make the bus home. Even with Jake's help, this was the longest rush job I've ever done and would have been over 120 miles if we made it. I don't think I'll do this route again even though it is pretty. |
