Ascent Trip Report

This peak is a pleasant climb to a broad summit with good views. From Gerlach, Nevada take route 447 a short distance north then route 34 north. After about 24 miles the road turns to graded dirt. After about 40 miles turn left(west)onto a fair road along Willow Creek. The topo shows a Swingle Ranch at the turn, but not much is there. After 1.3 miles turn left and at 2.1 miles I parked at a slight rise. This is a good place to start rather than going deep back into the canyon.
Head up the slopes as the waypoints show. The terrain is fairly easy. The route is 3.8 miles round-trip with about 1500 ft. of gain. The highest point as shown is on a knoll southwest of the benchmark. With my level-sighting device it is clearly higher and that is where the register was found.
