Ascent Trip ReportRainy, windy and cold day, but a group of 8 hearty souls (Bob, Beth, John, Alyssa, Karen, me, Samantha and Truman) conquered the muddy trails on Stinson Mountain. The trails had turned to riverbeds and the constant light to moderate rain threatened to dampen our spirits, but we made it to the top safely! Of course, there was no view to be seen except 8 smiling faces - mainly happy to have survived without injury and happy to know that the quick decent down was all that stood between us and a warm car!
The hike itself (aside from he rain and mud) was very easy. We took the hiking path to the summit, and returned via the snowmobile trail. Word of caution - there are other intersecting snow mobile trails so be sure to keep an eye out for the original path on the way down the mountain. The view from the peak is limited as there are trees on the summit. |
