Ascent Trip Report

Beautiful day for this hike. Started at the end of road in the campground. Day use is $10 as of May 1 2016. This trail is well maintained so it's worth it. Hiked starts and a prominent trailhead sign going up the canyon, crosses the stream about mile up and then switches back and ascends the mountain while following some buried fiber optic cable signs. After a little than a mile the trail intersects with the more direct route going left for a bit of a steeper ascent to the summit. All in all a nice uphill grade. While on the summit we decided to climb the nearby jagged looking peak to the south west. It's a poison oak avoidable path to the top with great views of the Nine Sisters and Morro Bay.
