Ascent of Observation Point on 2016-04-29
|Date:||Friday, April 29, 2016|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||6507 ft / 1983 m|
Ascent Trip ReportMy favorite maintained trail in Zion National Park. It was expected to rain, so a maintained trail seemed the best option for the day. Busy; I've hiked Observation Point a number of times, but never with so many people on the trail at the same time. Given the cool spring temperatures in this otherwise desert park, I shouldn't have been surprised. We watched a massive thunderstorm move across Kolob Terrace and descend through Behunin Canyon, Emerald Pools area and the southern end of the park. Beautiful day.
