Ascent Trip ReportNortheast Coulior ascent. Lots of ice running over the rock ledges, crampons necessary. Insanely windy ont he summit ridge, probably over 80 mph. Almost knocked me over when I turned a corner. Later in Ruidoso at lunch I found it was the windiest day it had been in over a year. There are alot of elk bones in the basin below the peak and lots of mountain lion scat. From the summit I saw nearly 30 elk just below a grassy ridge to the southwest. The register was a bit damp in the mailboxx and an extra large plastic bag would be a good thing for someone to bring. Great views!
