Ascent Trip Report

Northeast Coulior ascent. Lots of ice running over the rock ledges, crampons necessary. Insanely windy ont he summit ridge, probably over 80 mph. Almost knocked me over when I turned a corner. Later in Ruidoso at lunch I found it was the windiest day it had been in over a year. There are alot of elk bones in the basin below the peak and lots of mountain lion scat. From the summit I saw nearly 30 elk just below a grassy ridge to the southwest. The register was a bit damp in the mailboxx and an extra large plastic bag would be a good thing for someone to bring. Great views!
