Ascent Trip ReportThis is an enjoyable Washington County 2000 footer and bushwhack. I parked on Lynch Road which is a 4 wheel drive road about 2.5 miles up on Jones Brook Road which is off Three Mile Bridge Road coming out of the downtown area of Montpelier. With a GPS, I utilized some logging roads and cross country travel through mostly hardwood forest. There are some very decent views of Camel's Hump, Mt Mansfield, The Worcester Range, and the Northfield Range - at least in the spring. The return trip was interesting as I decended west of where I parked my car and walked Lynch. This is a rugged backcountry road only accessible with a high-clearance 4 wheel drive vehicle - yet there are people living out here and its only a few miles from the State House. Vermont can be a study in contrasts.
