Ascent Trip ReportI met my friends Terri and Scott at 9:30 to hike this as an out and back starting from the end of Spruceton Rd. It was raining when we started which quickly converted to snow as we ascended. Overall this isn't a complicated hike and it was actually quite relaxing and enjoyable. You are still climbing but I didn't find the grade that difficult. We reached the viewing area before the summit but unfortunately it was cloud covered. There was a dusting of snow but no ice so we hiked this bare boot.
The summit itself is in the woods with no view. We ate are lunch and headed back down the same way we came. The clouds made way for some sunshine so we had some views during the descent.
Map my hike: 7.23 miles, 1,765' gain, 4 hours. You could do this hike in less time easily.
