Ascent Trip Report

As of April 2, the road to the North Fork Sauk trail is driveable by a normal vehicle until about 500ft from the trailhead, where high clearance is needed to get through a washout.
We drove up friday morning and started hiking at 9am. Snow is intermittent in the trees until the Mackinaw shelter, above which it is continuous. We skied/snowshoed through soft slushy snow up to the ridge west of White Peak by 6pm , then descended the north side of the ridge and reached our bivy site just below Glacier Pass by 9pm. We awoke at 5am to being socked in with clouds, so slept in until sunrise when the clouds cleared. We then hiked through Glacier pass, traversed right around disappointment peak, and summitted by 11am. Duncan skied back down and I jogged in snowshoes wishing I had skis. After picking up our cached bivy gear we returned to the White Peak ridge, then got back to the truck by 10pm.
