Ascent Trip Report

Distance: 3.2 miles
Elevation gain/loss: 1185 ft / 1162 ft
Moving time: 1:30
Moving speed: 2.2 mph

Parked at the end of Aspel Rd for safe legal easy access. You could probably start off Menifee Rd and make an easier hike of it, though I did see down below that the RC Club parking lot gate was locked, so you would probably park in the dirt at Menifee/Simpson. Headed up the steep trail to 2141 first, then down a steeper trail to a saddle with Mt Brannon. Hiked to Brannon on the ridge trail and then back on the side trail. Back at the junction turned off towards 2096. At the base of 2096 I noticed 2 routes so I took the extremely well manicured single track up and took the road like trail down for variety. Very windy at the top was even making the cross sway. Also found the rarely visited cache. Upon returning to the trail junction of the 3 peaks I decided not to do the steep reclimb of 2141 and then steep downclimb. Instead I just went x-c since the brush wasn't too bad and with good coyote trails it made for an easy traverse.
