Ascent Trip Report

Forecast called for high winds at the summit of Mt. Shasta, which two of us hoped would subdue by the time we got there, trying to get the last days of low freezing levels. They didn't. We couldn't even get to the Horse Camp, the wind was so strong at times that we couldn't walk or even crawl without being blown away. After snowshoeing one mile we had to give up. The summit was in a whiteout all the time when it was within our sight.
