Ascent Trip ReportOuachita Pinnacle is a drive up county HP, but locating the ascent road was not easy for my son, Marshall, and I. Previous summit reports used a road that is no longer passible. We found a road on the south side of the mountain that would have saved us a lot of time if we had located it first. This gravel road to the summit is in good condition and it takes you directly to the top where we found 3 benchmarks. The view to the south from here is fantastic. At the time we were here, a huge forest fire was burning in the distance and there was an amazing amount of smoke rising from it and blowing to the south. This would be a great place to bring the family for a weekend picnic with the great view.
