Ascent Trip Report

Lincoln LA
1 area – small hill next off of hwy
Beckie & Dave Covill

Several things. This place has gone downhill bad. First, don’t even attempt to drive off of the paved hwy at the alleged pullout. Steeply down, to nothing. No way to drive anywhere. Instead, park back at Ryan’s Canterbury Road 0.3 N, or at one of two pull-ins S towards Driskill Mtn 0.3 and 0.4. Dangerous road, logging trucks wiz by, no shoulder at all. We did the Canterbury road parking, walked to hwy 30’ and crossed the woods to a power line right of way, and walked up to the pullout. Headed in to woods, made a mistake, followed better path straight after being in the woods about 100’. Mistake. This degraded quickly to nothing. Back-tracked, found path to right, appeared to be very old 4WD road. Now has trees in it 2-4” in diameter….. Made our way up it, some briars but not horrendous. Top is flat, open and pine trees. Left a penny in tree.
