Ascent Trip ReportThe day started with amazing weather! Considering it is February, we were all delayering after starting up! lots of route finding but we did gain the SE ridge without any problems. There was a group behind us (probably 15 of them), and they were quite noisy! We did manage to get away for a bit and walked out way up the ridge noticing we were following a Mooses tracks.... As I normally make clear.. Don't like moose.. The weather kept changing and by the time we got to the summit, we were all back in our layers and on top of it. I stayed back and nabbed a sick picture of John Ash and Jenn making the push, we got hit with some high wind gusts that were blowing snow in our faces. We only spend a few minutes at the top since the Other group was catching up. It wasn't worth lingering for long anyways, since the weather also reduced the visibility. We started down the south ridge and found a small enclosed pit, where we enjoyed our well deserved lunch. we got hit by a blizzard on the way down, lucky John had his barrings and we made it down safe and sound.. Minus a broken stick and some ripped pants.. 3 summits so far this year so excited! |
