Ascent Trip Report

Understanding that the Great Ridge was on Trail Magazine’s list of the UK’s 100 best hikes we really wanted to do that during our prolonged weekend in the Peak District. The approach from Castleton was fine, though a bit muddy, but it became extremely windy (and, eventually, rainy) once we got on the ridge. A fun experience, but I for sure had to hold on to my youngest son (aged 6) to make sure that he did not blow off the mountain. ;-)
