Ascent Trip ReportTo get to the TH, from VT 114 N turn right on Victory Road for 7.6 miles. You'll pass by the TH for East Haven Mountain at about 4 miles. At 7.6 miles there is a small cluster of homes - this is Gallup Mills which, I believe is a village in the Town of Victory. Turn left on Radar Road. Immediately after the turn is the Victory Town Clerks office on the right. There's gate here on Radar Road but I believe this road is open year round - I made the trip and hike in February.. I talked to the road crew on my first trip to scope it out after climbing East Haven Mountain and they instructed me to park at the 5 mile mark where there is another gate (this one closed) and Radar Road climbs East Mtn. The main road continues to the Village of East Haven. There's also a logging yard at this junction.
This is a wonderful winter hike with skis. I climbed about half way up on skis and skied the entire way down. The average slope is 7.5% and changes in slope are gradual.
One of Vermont's 100 highest. The detritus of a 50's radar station in a beautiful natural landscape. Unusual.
