Ascent Trip ReportLong day. Had to start at the Charcoal Kilns due to a road closure, though I probably could have driven the the lower campground if I had the chance. Microspikes added until the saddle as previous hikers footsteps and the last car that did drive through made it quite icy in the 22 degree start. Big change at the saddle and I would be in a T-shirt most of the rest of the day. Debated dropping my snowshoes off, but I kept them and they proved useful for the last 1000 feet of vert. Very nice Bristlecones up high, 2nd only to Moriah's east slope for me. Massive views, super clear. Even saw back to Hayford Peak that I had done the day before. Did Grapevine the next day on this 3 peak winter desert trip.
