Ascent Trip ReportMy wife and I did this on a warm Winter Day, hike was very icy especially as we went onto the Blue Trail to the summit. We didn't have snow shoes or cleats being that it was such a mild winter and there maybe 2 or 3 inches of snow on the ground but we didn't account for ice! All in all anywhere between a 6 to 7 mile round trip mostly on a logging road then as you take the yellow trail toward the summit it narrows and becomes more like a trail. I have to say the views from the summit were spectacular, again for us another different view of the Adirondacks! Looking West at Crane and Gore Mountain and looking South and East at Lake George, Black Mountain and Vermont. A great trip.
