Ascent Trip Report

Rainy day hike on the Kitsap Peninsula-- not much of a view, but still not a bad walk.

We followed the directions on the WTA page for this hike to reach the West viewpoint. There's not much in the way of signage on this trail, but it wasn't too difficult to get there by following the directions and staying to the right at each intersection except for the last one, which is a left turn.

There was a lot of wet brush encroaching on the trail, mud, flowing water, and a few downed trees, but nothing too difficult to get by. We didn't encounter any other hikers the whole time we were out on the trail, even though there were quite a few cars at the trailhead parking lot-- I suppose they must have all headed the other direction towards Green Mountain?

We'll definitely have to come back here on a clear day to see what the view actually looks like, and perhaps explore the other peaks in the area.
