Ascent of Dewey Point on 2016-01-17
|Date:||Sunday, January 17, 2016|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||7320 ft / 2231 m|
Ascent Trip ReportSnowshoe from Badger Pass to Dewey Point as a loop, going to Point on ridge trail and returning by the usual trail (further east). Parking available in Badger Pass ski parking lot (road closed past there). Many xc skiers on the road, fewer on the trails (ridge most difficult). Lots of traffic on MLK holiday weekend. SB said sometimes she had been there by herself, but there were probably 40 people at the Point when we were there. View from Dewey Point was priceless. Snow all around, from 3000' up. The cloud cover stayed high, and the sun even peeked through while we were there.
