|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||3167 ft / 965 m|
Ascent Trip ReportI made this trip on a pleasant winter day There were a couple of inches of new snow in a base of 3-4 inches of crusty stuff. From the Butterfield parking lot I skied Vast Trail 302 West. One could go either east or west for a launching point for Butterfield. Going west is a bit longer but it may be a bit easier. I skied in 3.2 miles and then went off trail for the last mile to the summit of Butterfield. I using microspikes (snowshoes weren't needed). My route was near the col between Butterfield and SIgnal. The bushwhack was relatively steep. There two jars at the summit but I couldn't open either.
PS - I lost a microspike in the snow. If you find it let me know
