I wanted to take advantage of the open road for the W46ers. When I got there, it was closed! I’m surprised, last year people were getting stuck in their 4x4 and it was open. Tough luck, I’ll go anyways. It took about 2h to get up Donaldson from the Horse trail, pretty easy trail and almost didn’t get lost. Up there there was ice, but not enough to warrant wasting time putting crampons on. So Emmonds gets done easily and I didn’t need Seward for the W46, but decided to do it anyways, since I’m already there. Very bad move, the descent of Seward was really bad: completely icy and very muddy too. I regret not doing Seymour, because I could try the full 115W this winter. Finished with headlamp and headed to Cascade and Porter.
