Ascent Trip Report

3rd of 4 fairly easy mountains on the day.

I decided to hike it on a whim after seeing ti mentioned in an area attractions paper I read while I ate lunch.

The trailhead is not well marked - not easy to see driving out of Saranac Lake village although it is a bit easier to see from the other direction after you have turned around to find it. Parking is on the other side of the road.

The trail was well marked and in generally good condition although it will need some maintenance on the bottom portion soon. It was a pretty steady climb to attain 780 feet of elevation in 6/10's of a mile - there were a few moderate to steep areas.

Great views from the summit! The Seward Range is especially prominent. Definitely worth the short hike for these views.
