Ascent Trip Report

This bushwhack is a bit more difficult than Luftee Knob. This apparently isn't as popular a summit as others so the path isn't as clear. I started east of the summit in a 'drainage ditch' as I call it all the way to the top of the ridge. Then I traveled west to the summit pushing through all the blackberry thorns. These can be avoided by hiking down off the ridge a bit on the south side. I came straight down the mountain on the south side and found the way steeper but more clear, so I'd recommend this route. Start off the Balsam Mountain Trail directly south of the summit and bushwhack straight up. There will be less brush the further you go up.
