Ascent Trip Report

Just north of Brockway Summit on CA 267, a good dirt road (FR 1802) goes right and heads up approx. 4 miles to the volunteer-staffed Calfire L.O., built in 1997. The summit of Martis Peak and the former L.O. are a short walk of perhaps 1/8 mile above the current L.O. This is a visitor-friendly spot with outdoor picnic table, good views, and easy access. Definitely worth the detour. Howard Snyder was the affable, informative volunteer on duty this lovely fall day.
