Ascent Trip ReportIsabel and I decided to walk the Duckabush Trail with the goal of knocking off Little Hump and Big Hump. We had roughly 4 hours of light, so we high tailed it the approximately 4 miles to a location parallel with the trail to start the bushwhack into the forest to summit Big Hump. After some route finding, we scrambled up the correct moss covered rock formation and soaked in some wonderful views - Notably St. Peters Dome, and a waterfall coming off the massive cliff-face. Many burnt trees in the area which blackened our hands, when accidentally used as hand-holds. We booked it back onto the trail and made a dash back to trail which paralleled an entry point for Little Hump. Summit was much less obvious here, we wandered within the contour line for a bit, tagging the contenders - much less enjoyable then Big Hump, and we got bored/annoyed with the endeavor, just in time as light was fading quick, and we bushwacked back onto the trail, heading back to the trail-head at dusk.
Left Care at 1200ish - back by 1700ish - Lots of elevation loss/gain, and 8.8 miles logged on GPS which felt like much more.
