Ascent Trip ReportI started my jog up the AT/Fire road tower trail head off of Millbrook RD. It's a short approach from this direction, only about 1 to 1.1 mile to the summit and fire tower. So I decided to jog it. I didn't have a blistering pace by any means but made the summit in under 11 minutes on the jog. It's a nice up hill run that is a little demand at about .6/10 to .7/10 when the trail makes a nice little gain. Hiking it would be no problem for any novice. Round trip the summit is only about 1.8 to 2 miles. There are nice vistas and a clearing at the summit/tower. I continued my run another 1.2 miles south past the tower and found a real nice cliff at about 2.06 miles. This short section of the AT runs right along a cliff for about 20yards with great views east and the valley below. Definitely worth the extra mile. I will gladly make this an annual or biannual hike with family, friends, and my four legged friends. Nice little hike.
