Ascent Trip ReportLast night we couldn't finish Colvin and Blake so we came back today. My girlfriend wanted to do something easier so she went for indian head and really liked the view there. I only had Blake to finish the 46ers so went fast. The whole trip took 4h so it wasn't too easy. I had to use spikes right before Colvin. The trail is easy to follow and the area is nice. Colvin summit has a very nice view. The ridge on Colvin was very windy and then everything went calm doing Blake. Blake seemed very impressive, you could see the round mountain spiking out of nowhere and as is standard in the adk, we had to go really low and then up Blake. There wasn't much view to the summit and only a direction to Pinacle or Colvin shown. I almost fell the whole slide before Blake, I was holding to roots and then hallucinated something go fast in the woods. Left my hand and started sliding down, it was about 50 feet to the ground, but luckily slid sideways to the other side.
So 46ers are over (including mcnaughton) now on to do them in winter!
