Ascent Trip ReportBased on the topo map I downloaded from the Internet, I was expecting a bushwhacking climb in order to bag Wilson Hill. Instead I found a new subdivision with a loop summit road that led me within a few hundred feet of the highpoint. Unfortunately, this spot sits in someone's backyard, however, when I asked permission to access the area, the owner of the property laughed and said he gets a lot of climbers. (By a lot, he meant a few a year!) He was interested where I was from and it was obvious he was puzzled why anyone would be obsessed with such a sport. Of course, he was happy to allow me access to his property and it was just 100 yards to the "summit" up a steep rise in his backyard. Despite Wilson Hill's relief from the surrounding terrain, there is not much of a view due to trees and the fact that the actual summit is fairly level and too far from the southern lip of the hill to enjoy the kind of vista you would expect from the topo's topography.
