Ascent Trip Report

We parked on Caverly Road a little way from King's Highway and started out hike form there. We followed Caverly Road until the first ATV trail sign, and then took a left onto the Caverly Mountain Loop trail. The trail eventually wound around to the Ease side of the Mountain, and we saw a side trail to the right that went up pretty steeply so we decided to take that. This trail was pretty easily followed, considering it wasn't an ATV trail. it eventually met up with another ATV trail and we went left at this intersection, just following the elevation up. This trail eventually faded out, but the summit area was already in view by then. We followed the open area to the western false summit and stopped to rest and take a few pictures. The view from here was of Winnepesaukee and Rattlesnake Island, and Mount Molly. We continued on to explore the summit, and eventually fount the true summit and a nice view overlooking Merrymeeting Lake and Mount Jesse. We followed the Caverly Mountain loop trail down from the false summit to the west and had no trouble navigation back to the car from there.

7/10 would hike again. the summit would make a nice summer camping spot.
