Ascent Trip ReportWife, daughter and I headed to Port Townsend to check out Fort Worden to take advantage of the remaining weekends without the addition to the family, making it more difficult to travel. The former Army base is home to massive artillery batteries which guarded the Strait of Juan De Fuca. Interestingly, the movie, "Officer and a Gentleman" was filmed largely on the base and surrounding town, and we checked out most of the sites shown in the movie. Additionally, we went down to check out the Point Wilson Light House.
The Artillery Hill was the high point on the base.
