Ascent Trip Report

Walked the old road to just before the wash-out. Ascended up the steep mud slope. Followed very faint boot trail. Some bushwacking and some straight-up hiking. Very pleasant hike up to the ridge. Wind was gusting at 25MPH so we decided to head back down instead of attempting the ridge line in those conditions. Decided to explore on our way down and see if we could find another line which would drop us on the old road after the switch back. This, sadly, turned into an epic bushwack.

We did eventually find ourselves at the end of the abandoned road. However, I would not recommend that alternative route as the road is incredibly overgrown and difficult to get through. Getting across the washout was also not the finest thing I have done in the mountains.

We saw coyote, goat, deer and bear scat, but no animals to speak of other than a hawk and maybe some grouse.
