Ascent Trip Report 3rd times a charm!!!! After being denied twice at the chain due to snow and ice I was determined to bag this one. The weekend forecast looked good and with or without anyone I was climbing this mountain! I left Leth at 0800 on my own and started at the trail around 0945, the mountain looked good no snow for once or fog I had yet to see the area not covered in it. The begging part has always been my most dreaded it seems it takes me a while to warm up and I was defiantly huffing and puffing but I knew if I kept going to the tree line it gets easier. At the tree line I met 3 other Hikers being that I preferred to not summit alone I tagged along with them. I was really lucky as rick is a professional guide and I was able to pick his brain and ask a ton of questions. we made our way up to the chain and up and over the gully. we took a small break at the top of the gully for a snack and then made our way up to the top. The views were as always amazing you could make out where BC and AB meet as well as Window Mountain and Turtle mountain. After we had lunch we made our way down had a beer at ricks truck at the trail head then I headed to my car for my way home. All in all I was very glad to finally check this one off my list and the views were defiantly worth me being so stubborn!
