Ascent Trip Report

Yesterday, four of us-- Stanley Dickover, Morton McDonald, George Frankforter, and I--backpacked up the Convict Lake Trail to Lake Dorothy. This morning Stan and I
climbed Red Slate Mountain from here. Typical Sierra rubble, some firm snow to cross. Wonderful view from summit. No time available for more ascents as planned. Red Slate Mountain is the highest Sierra peak north of Mt. Abbot.
