Ascent Trip Report

We turned off of US281 on to 108th Street NE. We parked at a field edge close to directly south of the highpoint. The fence was unposted here and the field was harvested. Once on the back end of the field we got into the woods and had to bushwhack to the top. Only a couple of minutes, though. I saw a deer run off down a trail through the woods. The leaf colors were looking great, and back out in the open we could see great colors to the SE and SW where there were openings in closer groves of trees. There is a manmade pile of dirt in the woods here, but it was pushed up by a dozer. The actual highpoint was farther north just before the ground drops off significantly. There's a deer stand in view of the field. Maybe it's not a good highpoint for hunting season. We thought about going to the International Peace Gardens after the highpoint, but to go you have to come back through US customs although you don't have to ever enter Canadian customs. We chose not to.
