Ascent Trip ReportYesterday, while en route to Los Angeles, I flew to Albuquerque via Denver and then drove to Taos to sleep at a comfortable motel in Taos.
This morning I was in the parking lot at Taos Ski Valley by 7:00AM and soon on my way up Wheeler Peak via the scenic Twining-Blue Lake Trail. Though becoming partly cloudy as it progressed it was a mild, windless, pleasant day. Very few hikers on Wheeler Peak today. After a few minutes of enjoyable solitude enjoying the Wheeler Peak summit and its sweeping views I headed back down, arriving at my car by 4:00PM. Then a fast drive to Albuquerque to catch a flight to Los Angeles.
