Ascent Trip ReportA trail climb .... 1.6km, 40 minutes RT
We were on our way to Butte a Moffat when we saw this land mark from a great distance .... at first thinking that it was Moffat. We had to check it out so we went to the farm house on Chemin Pinacle, immediately south of the mountain and learned that its name was Pinacle and that a popular trail went to the summit, "Sometimes there are a dozen cars parked at the TH."
The guy knew that there were other mountains in Quebec called Pinacle, referring to the one near the Vermont Border which I've already climbed. He said that at one time the Canadian Government had plans to install a radar station on this summit. The mountain is apparently owned by someone not living in the area, but allows access.
The TH (just west of the farm house) is on Chemin Pinacle .6km southwest of the Pinacle/Marcotte junction. The wide road/trail climbs/winds moderately north .8km to the summit .... open rock with fine rewards, sat a spell to enjoy the view.
This Peak deserves to be in the PB Library, I will add it as provisional.
