Ascent Trip Report

Stayed at Blackwoods Campground in Acadia and drove the loop road around to the packing area (side of road) at the trailhead. The trailhead is right near the loop road intersection with the sandy pond beach parking area. Since it was Monday afternoon (labor day weekend), most people had already headed home so it was not that crowded. We saw ~6 people on the hike up (~25 mins - very cool hike/climb). There were a bunch of iron rungs and things to climb on the ascent which were fun. We it the summit and took some pics, then made our way down the pond trail (much easier descent - highly recommended).
