Ascent Trip Report

From Decathon Canyon Trailhead. Peak #61 of #61 of NV 11k peaks. I first tried this one from the South Fork Big Wash on the east side. I looped around the north side looking for a good point to start up, didn't see what I wanted and kept looping to the west and it got thick and steep, not a good option.

For this climb, it was a long drive along the west side coming in from the south the Decathon Canyon Trailhead. Note my pretty high clearance Jeep Liberty was bottoming out a few times as the tire tracks were quite deep. Followed the canyon up until I gained the ridge, then followed the ridge to the top.

It looks like climbing this from Lincoln Peak could be a good option, though the drive to that trailhead is one of the steepest I've been on and requires a good 4wd and experience on steep roads with multipoint turns at corners.
