Ascent Trip ReportMade it up the Battlefield Peaks from the saddle parking area. If Kelsey is your main goal then you do not need to climb the steep ridge up the peak to its north. In fact there is a good game trail cutting across the south east face from the Piney Pass down to near the low saddle east of the sub peak with White Pine Canyon to the north. It is a little west of where the aspen come up on both sides from below and briefly converge across the ridge, probably around 8900 feet. This would save alot of effort if you find it, and cause much grief if you lose it. We only found it on the way down.
Also of not is a decent down White Pine Canyon goes through some very nice aspen groves on the upper flat, marred only by the abundance of cattle. Lower down it is a bit beat up by ARCs. We had no problem hitching a ride back to our car at the saddle.
