Ascent Trip ReportAn all sand walk .... 1.2 miles, 35 minutes RT.
We found our way to the north end of Indiana Dunes State Park for the Mount Baldy Entrance, parked outside the main gate as it was closed.
I walked the short distance to the Kiosk with a trail map. The trail goes west to a junction, the beach is straight, I stayed right and climbed steeply to the top, then northerly across the all open sand dune expanse to the obvious HP (41.70995,-86.92838) with the odd blade of grass. Outstanding views all around, the Chicago skyline is across the lake. About .6 miles from the TH.
Lot of blowing sand on this windy day, makes one wonder how long this dune will last. We moved on the Michigan's Warren Dunes State Park.
